My pick this year for Valentine’s Day dinner is actually a new restaurant called Malibu farms. It’s located at Pier 17 downtown near the South St., Seaport with water views of the Brooklyn Bridge. The sexy lounge like design and delicious food makes for the perfect Valentine’s Day date location plus you can do a little shopping at the South St., Seaport, catch a movie and for those looking for a little more fun they have moonlit skating on the rooftop rink with lights set up in Valentine’s Day colors.

Ok, if you are looking for more of a spa & room service type of Valentine’s Day definitely try booking a room in one of the hottest neighborhoods in New York City! Think the Bowery Hotel in Soho. The Bowery Hotel is so chic and romantic. Plus Soho has so much history and charm… the cobblestone streets and all of the intimate cafés and shops. It is a great place to enjoy connect and enjoy this Valentine’s Day. Then there is the Nomad in Flatiron and the Plaza Athenee uptown are also other great options.

Now if you’re into the spa idea but maybe not into booking a hotel room I recommend Aire. Aire is an ancient bath house in the heart of Tribeca. There are salt water baths, hot baths, cold baths, even jacuzzis & steam room. Plus they offer some really great Valentines Day Spa packages and services which they are offering the entire month of February. So you won't miss out. Then a little further uptown is Premier 57 with hydrotherapy pools, saunas and even an infrared lounge great for relaxing this Valentine’s Day.

But if you really want to wow your date this year I recommend getting tickets to the top of the Empire State Building. Tickets must be reserved in advance for this. But picture kissing the love of your life with the backdrop of all of New York City behind you on Valentine’s Day… it’s truly breathtaking. Something you will both remember forever.

Mom & Dad Tip: This year I am booking a day date! It is so hard to book a sitter on Valentine’s Day but I didn’t let that get in our way. We booked a day date while the kids are at school. We have spa appointments followed by lunch at our favorite restaurant. Which it was so easy to get reservations for during the day as opposed to on Valentines Day dinner which has been booked for months.
